| Less than 6 months
after supplying their first shipment of English Mead and Wine to Japan,
Lurgashall Winery was again the focus of attention from another buying group.
Although popular with Japanese tourists to the UK, English wines, mead and
liqueurs have never been widely available in Japan but thanks to the efforts
of the British Embassy in Tokyo, Lurgashall is now one of the largest suppliers
to the Japanese market.
Akiko Yanigasawa from the Embassy explained, "We first tasted Lurgashall's mead and wine when they visited Japan last year which lead to the appointment of an importer. When English wines were shown on a TV documentary recently, we had numerous enquiries and with their extensive range and an established partner back in Japan, we jumped at the chance to see Lurgashall on their home soil and to introduce them to yet another expert wine buyer." |
